We celebrate its legacy of over a century of being an artists’ enclave and a half-century of birthing the New Age from the embers of sex, drugs and rock’n’roll. A town where one can find important figures in several religions, world class musicians, writers, artists, producers, luthiers, filmmakers, recordists, etc. A place where crazy artists and crazier country folks have been rubbing shoulders since 1902 and basically everybody gets along pretty well.
As one of the epicenters of the cosmic love-bomb that hit the world in the 60s, modern Woodstock has always been all about enlightenment; “waking up” to the cosmic mind, to the wrongness of racism and war and to the value of ancient wisdom ways. Music, social activism and mind expansion were the hallmarks of the time and all are well represented in the WOODSTOCK SUMMER SCHOOL at the Mothership

Discover the beautiful world of watercolor paintings through Paul McMahon's art. These paintings are a celebration of color and light.
You are invited to apply to be our guest at The Mothership. The Visual Artist Residency is a 5-day stay in an amazing space that ends in an optional 1-day pop-up show in the gallery space, often accompanied with a live music event or other performance. Residents may perform as well. Located in the heart of Woodstock, NY with a Baldwin parlor grand piano, it is a two minute walk to the center of town and the bus from NYC. Artists are exposed to a rich and diverse community of artists, musicians and poets. Woodstock is also a vibrant spiritual hub and home of The beautiful KTD Tibetan Buddhist Monastery in addition to many smaller studios and practitioners. The Shivastan bookstore is located behind the gallery and frequently hosts poetry readings. The residency is a community oriented, laid-back experience in very comfortable lodgings.
